Brenda and Danny’s Wedding ABC Seafood Restaurant Milpitas

Tremendously happy couple, their goal was to make the evening all about the guests, from the food, favors, interactions, games, even the entertainment.

Brenda and Danny are both Vietnamese and so were most of their family and friends, through the planning process we came with several ideas but what I thought it was the coolest thing, was that they actually purchased high priced items and gave them aways for prizes in games or raffles, anywhere from Ipod, Camcoders, you name it…

The evening started with the traditional Lion Dance, well performed and completaly unexpected by the guests, which they had an awesome time.

Although I do a grand variety of Asian Weddings I’m familiar with Vietnamese Wedding traditions and part of is to have a family member MC some parts of the evening which we worked along great, we did the games and raffles together, including the Pass The Dollar Game, a favorite at Chinese and Vietnamese Weddings.

Dancing took off, from minute one, Brenda danced so much that at one point she had to remove her shoes, the highlight of the evening was at the end, their First Dance was supposed to be a coordinated dance mix of two songs, but due to their professions and lack of time they opted for one slow song.

However they requested “Because Of You – by Neyo”  for their Las Dance, now here comes the Surprise, since their mixed First Dance never happened, I Mixed in “You’re The One That I Want – From Grease” their eyes were glowing with happiness, and they showed their best moves… I never had a Bride so Happy, she came to running to the stage to give me a Big Hug!!! now talk about priceless moments.

Alex and Katie’s Wedding 08/13/2011, Shannon Community Center, Dublin, California.

Country decor, an out of town Kind and Fun Bride, a Groom crazy for his Bride, a venue that was the perfect setting for a fairytale.

Katie and Alex are without a doubt the kindest people I’ve met in a long time, their devotion to each other, family and friends is beyond amazing. I was blessed to do their wedding on a sunny day at the Shannon Community Center in Dublin, California. It’s a hidden jewel in the Tri-Valley area, with bridges that lead to a Garden perfect for a fairytale wedding, and that’s what took place on August 13, 2011.

They had a traditional ceremony, that was filled with laughs, prayers, good wishes and a beautiful song by one of the Bride’s friend.

The Reception did not stay behind, with a country decor, great food, all coordinated by Linda Marshall from Currant Events, a very seasoned Wedding Coordinator which I had the pleasure to work with.

To be honest the wedding was the first day I met Katie, and really only got to say hello and congratulations as I was ready to introduce them, as both Katie and Alex currently live in Washington State, however all of our planning was done via email and phone, she was a blessing to work with.

Dancing was phenomenal and took off from the first 15 seconds of “September by Earth, Wind and Fire” in a matter of a minute the Dance Floor was filled with eager happy guests willing to dance the night away and so did the Bride and Groom.

At 9:30 we did the Bouquet Toss to “Oh Pretty Woman by Roy Orbison” and invited all the guests outdoors to send off the Bride & Groom in a cool custom Vintage 1949 ranch truck filled with haystacks for seating… It was unique and fun!

Chinese and Filipino, Christine and Gary’s Wedding in Emeryville

Talk about speedy and fun planning! I was only hired by Christine and Gary a week prior to their Sunday Wedding, so the task was set to get all the information quickly as possible to create a timeline that would work perfectly for their wedding.

Now their venue has one incredible view of the bay almost in the middle of the Ocean, as you drive down Evemeriville you’ll find this award winning Chinese Restaurat called “Hong Kong East Ocean” food is great and the views amazing, perfect for photos.

Chinese Banquets come with the tradition of 9 or more dinner courses, speeches, games, gown changes etc… So we did one to for the centerpieces giveaway, and the Bride and Groom friends did the rest, really fun.

Dancing took place immediately after the money dance (a Filipino tradition) and it did not stop until 11pm, yes on a Sunday Night! Their guests jumped, screamed and pulled their best moves on the dance floor.  While wearing fun props from the photobooth… now I’ve seen dancing but when you have guests including ladies sweating and not stopping because every song is good for them, well then that’s just plain memorable.

Intro and Formal Dances were:

  • Grand Entrance: Something Beautiful – New Boys
  • First Dance: Feels Like Home – Chantal Kreviazuk
  • Father/Daughter Dance: My Girl – The Temptations
  • Bouquet Toss Song:Single Ladies – Pretty Girl Rock – Keri Hilson
  • Garter Toss Song: Under Pressure – David Bowie

Best Dance Hits:

  • I Gotta Feeling – Black Eyed Peas
  • Low – Flo Rida
  • California Gurls – Katie Perry
  • September – Earth, Wind and Fire
  • PYT – Michael Jackson

Wedding websites and planning Bay Area, Livermore, San Jose

There’s nothing more exciting for a bride than planning a wedding, there are so many tools out there that can help you with the process, as a Wedding DJ it’s part of my job to help couples with guidance and suggestions, but nothing comes closer than a brides dream and vision of their big day.

Google has an awesome feature that allows Brides and Grooms “http://www.google.com/weddings/” letting their guests know about details of their event, you can add photos, calendars, you name it… Which brings me to a fun growing trend, music suggestions from your guests, you heard it right! allowing your guests to suggest 1-2 dancing songs they like to hear during, well the dancing portion of the evening, gives you and the Disc Jockey performing at your event an Idea of what your guests tastes are like, with this you already know that your guests will feel comfortable dancing and have guaranteed great time.

Don’t forget to try http://www.google.com/weddings/ let the Fun of planning your wedding begin.

Ken and Jessica’s Wedding at the Martinelli Event Center, Livermore, Ca.

What’s not to love about Livermore and Pleasanton area, specially as you drive down the road and see all those little mark sings indicating which direction are the wineries.

Dr. Ken and Jessica got married on a sunny afternoon in June, 2011… One comment I get from groom’s very often is “I just want to make sure my guests have Fun and a Great Time” It’s my job and pleasure as a Wedding DJ to deliver.

Indeed Fun times, with a mix of both Chinese and American Culture, I could not keep them off the dance floor… to the point that I overheard the groom say to one of his guests while the Crowd was Jumping (yes jumping, to Jump around… young and old) “This is exactly what I wanted” and with a big smile in his face.

Ken and Jessica hired me at the only Bridal Fair I do, which I as was the MC for and they selected my most complete Wedding package of uplighitng, monogram and dancing under the stars, slideshow and ceremony coverage,  needless to say the Martinelli Event Center in Livermore never looked better, and this was a comment by the day of coordinator.

Congratulations Ken and Jessica.

Avatar meets Harry Potter at the Pacific Athletic Club Wedding in Redwood City

Yes you did read right, Abe and Grabrielle, both Sci-Fi fans, wanted their wedding to reflect what they liked the most Sci-Fi, recently at that time Avatar, Harry Potter, their friends and mostly their religion Buddhism.

I remember when Abe first contacted me about me being the DJ for their wedding, he stated with also a question “we want someone that can understand our vision, Have you watched Avatar as many times as we have? My answer was: Abe I love Sci-Fi and I have probably watched Avatar even more times than you!
I think that pretty much sealed our contract.

Their Wedding took place at the Pacific Athletic Club in October of 2010, and the room was filled with all of sort of details, their toasting glasses were medieval goblets(Pretty unique idea, I must say). We had to setup uplighting and the Dancing Under The Stars effect, which made it for an awesome photo taking backdrop.

Some of their friends performed during dinner to entertain the guests and honor the Bride & Groom… we even played the Pass The Dollar Game… what an evening, not matter what I played they danced to.

Unforgetable evening and a great honor to DJ at Abe and Gabrielle’s Wedding.

John and Carolyn’s Wedding at the Cypress Hotel in Cupertino

So I met this most wonderful couple one sunny morning in February 2010, we met after exchanging a few emails, although Carolyn was pretty much decided on my services after reading past reviews, she wanted to make sure John met with me as well to discuss music and important detail (you’ll find out as you read on).

It turns out that John was and still is an avid musician, a drummer to be exact and Carolyn was as caring and most calm bride I’ve met, obviously John had some cool suggestions about music specially in the Neo-Soul and Classi Rock style but wanted to also make sure I was able to please the guests with current music and classic party hits.

The big day came along, they both looked calm as water, the reception room at the Cypress Hotel in Cupertino, was just amazing, choosing my biggest wedding package helped with the “Uplighitng, Dancing Under The Stars, Slideshow and Monogram” also had the pleasure to worth with Natalie Green from NYPhotography she such a blessing and a blast to work with.

The evening rocked completaly and litteraly as a lot the requests were classic rock, the always awesome 80′s and with a pinch of top 40′s… Carolyn the Bride was Filipino and as I do a lot of Filipino weddings, I know they love to Cha-Cha, so I included some great Cha-Cha songs.

The surprise was the Groom’s Cake, a “Drum” that was the coolest thing.

In all was a great night, all the guests had an awesome time, you know that when the groom says to you that he’s never seen a lot of his friends dance, ever…

Bridal Party Grand Entrance Song: Rock the Casbah

Bride and Groom Grand Entrance Song: Shotgun – Junior Walker

First Dance Song: How Strong Love Is – Ottis Redding
