Katrina and Darren’s Wedding, Corinthian Grand Ballroom, San Jose

corinthian-event-center-sound-wave-mobile-dj-san-joseKatrina and Darren held their wedding celebration at the majestic Corinthian Grand Ballroom in San Jose, for their family and friends in the USA, as they had already got married in the Philippines.

One of the unique features of the Corinthian is how the Brides are allowed to take advantage of the amazing architecture, that includes a balcony in which the Bride & Groom can make their gran entrance from and it’s also used for the first dance.

I had the honor to Officiate their very unique “Sand Ceremony”, everyone had a great time.

Lisa and Stacen Wedding, April 2012 at The Grandview Pavilion, Alameda

alameda-ca-wedding-djTo be called by someone after they saved my business card for almost 7 years, it’s really an honor. I did an event for Lisa (The Bride) and remember her asking for a business card along with her mother, mentioning that “one day I’ll get married” and she called me for that very special day.

Lisa and Stacen had a very intimate but fun wedding in Alameda at the Grandview Pavilion, the best man pulled one interesting and fun toast, that included props and gifts, lots of laughs.

The Napa Valley, breath taking and famous for its award winning wines. Josh and Roxana chose the Springhill Suites just minutes away from the wineries, really a beautiful location.

Roxana wanted someone that would understand both their cultural backgrounds and music. Roxana being from El Salvador required the knowledge of certain artists and folk music from her country, Josh in the other hand wanted to incorporate some country music along with the Top 40 songs. Needless to say it was a really fun night mixing all the music and everyone enjoying themselves on the Dance Floor, the photographer even showed her Zumba moves!

The Bride also requested a special song mix for her Father/Daughter Dance, there are 2 version the English and Spanish and she wanted me to blend both, she was delighted and very emotional whe she heard the final results.

This is what Roxana had to say about the services provided:

David was just amazing from beginning to end. When I met David my fiancé and I had already met with several DJ’s. We had been disappointed by the lack of knowledge of the music from my culture. David knew exactly what I wanted from the very first day. Furthermore he demonstrated his professionalism by altering the father-daughter dance song for me. He was able to mix the song in both English and Spanish. This completely blew me away and brought tears to my eyes. During the wedding he surpassed all of my expectations. He was very professional and was able to play the music that guests liked (guests from various cultures and ages). The up lighting was perfect and the monogram was just amazing. Thank you David for being a part of our special day; it would not have been the same without you. http://www.weddingwire.com/wedding/UserViewProfile?wid=72db43a872a51ca3

A cozy heartfelt wedding on a rainy weekend at The Bridges Golf Club in San Ramon.

Urara and Michael were surrounded by a very happy group of family and friends, Urara’s sister-in-law sang during the ceremony making it unique and special  (What a voice!).

Being a Japanese/American Wedding, the Bride and Groom asked me to include some fun activities during dinner and reception, the “pass the dollar game” was a hit (as always). Cocktail and dinner music consisted on R&B and Motown, most of them became sing along and finger tappers.

For dancing, let me put it this way, one of the guests told me ” Thank you os much, that she danced like she was in high school all over again! They all had a great time specially towards the end, when the 80′s/90′s Hip Hop came along.

This was Urara’s review of my services: David did our wedding, and everything was great. Our guests had an amazing time, and we received so many compliments from our guests on our music choice.
He helped us a lot throughout the planning process, and his on-line planner was very useful. He also recommended some fun games to play, and we had so much fun with the games that we picked, which turned out to be the best part of our wedding. Highly recommend! http://www.weddingwire.com/wedding/UserViewProfile?wid=d3b197555e17d478

Amy and Doug’s Wedding at Mings Restaurant, Palo Alto

“Take my breath away” should be playing just about now as Doug is a Naval Officer.

Their wedding took place in the award winning “Mings” restaurant in Palo Alto, friends and family flew from all over the country to be with them on this special day. I actually had the honor to introduce their Family Members(usually done by someone close to the family)

As part of my services and understanding the Chinese Culture and Traditions, helped create the perfect timeline and added a few details to enhance the evening, such as the Pass The Dollar Game and Find the Groom.  I also the pleasure to produce a slideshow for them, which they loved so much they purchased a few extra copies for the family members.

Highlight of the evening was a group of friends composed and sang one of the funniest songs I’ve heard (sorry it was somewhat rated R)

They had a large group of younger guests and even the older ones were probably younger at heart, since they danced non-stop until 11pm. If you’ve been to the Mings, then you know how little of space there’s for dancing, then imagine 200+ people dancing at the same time in such a small place.

Congratulations Amy and Doug and it goes without saying, Thank You Doug for serving our country.
